I go to St. Ignatius School in Pennsylvania, USA. I joined reading olympics in 4th grade and I absolutely love it. In reading olympics, you have a list of 45 books you can read. You don’t have to read all of them, but you should definitely read as many as you can.  You then have a competition in April with your team. The moderators or judges ask you questions about the books you read. My team won a blue ribbon last year, which is first place!

I hear the clock, “tick, tock, tick, tock.” It is 2:00am; there are no sounds outside, it is like Earth has stopped running. I lay in my bed trying to sleep, but I get the strangest feeling that someone is watching me. No creaks on the floor, no snoring from my parent’s bedroom, no rain plopping onto my window or roof. Complete silence. Suddenly, I hear a crashing noise inside my kitchen, “CRASH!” It sounded like something broke. I get out of bed, put on my slippers and robe and run out of my room! I creep down the stairs making no creaks! I run with fear to the kitchen and my heart rate drops.

The Smith Family was going on vacation to Florida. They had a very friendly pug named Max. Mom was packing her toothbrush, Dad was packing his socks, Zoe was packing her dresses, and Ted was packing his toys. The Smith Family was very busy packing. After they were all packed, they were ready to leave. What do you think happened next? 

I have been doing track since I was 8 years old and it is so much fun! You can be a long-distance runner, a mid-distance runner, or a sprinter. I am a sprinter which is when you run really fast in a short period of time. I have 8 gold medals and I won them all last year! Last year, I got in to the Penn Relays which are relays for really fast people. My team got into the final and we won a gold medal. We were the winning team in 108 schools. I was also in the postseason which are 2 competitions and if you ranked in both, you would go to the last and final competition called the Archdiocese. I won a lot of medals at those 2 competitions and I was in the Archdiocese. Overall, I had a great track season. You should join track too!

Ben was choking on two coins. I don’t know how the coins got into his little mouth, but somehow they did.  Mother called emergency, but only the fire truck could come. A red fire truck came rushing with sirens screaming. The firemen took a ladder and ran down the pavement. They leaned the ladder on our house and and started climbing it. This was the most interesting thing that had happened to me all week, so I was happy. But when the firemen came, Ben got both of the coins out of his mouth. A sinking feeling came over me.  

Now I am here, laying on a side walk in the middle of nowhere. My owner Olivia, was walking to school. I was in her cozy backpack laying with her books and pencils. I was enjoying the walk to school when Anna Skipper came walking by and “accidentally” pushed Olivia. Anna was such a mean person. Once, she tried to steal me, but Olivia got me back. This time Anna opened Olivia’s backpack, took me by the ear, and started racing towards school. I heard Olivia yelling in the distance, but she could’t catch up. Then Anna dropped me and never came back.
