Student Blogging Challenge: Week 4

I hear the clock, “tick, tock, tick, tock.” It is 2:00am; there are no sounds outside, it is like Earth has stopped running. I lay in my bed trying to sleep, but I get the strangest feeling that someone is watching me. No creaks on the floor, no snoring from my parent’s bedroom, no rain plopping onto my window or roof. Complete silence. Suddenly, I hear a crashing noise inside my kitchen, “CRASH!” It sounded like something broke. I get out of bed, put on my slippers and robe and run out of my room! I creep down the stairs making no creaks! I run with fear to the kitchen and my heart rate drops.

  1. Hi Julia! This is so creepy and cool. Your writing is very detailed and descriptive. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the story. Where did you get inspiration for this?

    • Hi Ally,

Thanks for reading my story! I got the inspiration for this from my alarm clock in my room. I actually woke up in the middle of the night with my clock ticking.

  2. Hi Julia,
What a great story beginning! The reader has to imagine what could possibly have made the crash in the kitchen. I must say I might want to hide under the covers rather than face the unknown downstairs! Maybe you can do a follow up post to clear up the mystery and let us know what was in the kitchen! My guess might be it was an older brother or sister coming home late and trying to sneak in but tripped over something in the kitchen. Did your parents wake up too? Or was it dad going downstairs for a snack and tripping over the dog? (I don’t want to imagine anything worse!)

    Keep writing!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Ruffing

    • Hi Mrs. Ruffing,
Thank you for commenting on my story. My parents were sound asleep during the loud CRASH. I am definitely thinking of making a sequel story to this one. I am not sure who was in the kitchen yet though.😂 Thanks for reading my story!
